My baby girl is the bravest kid in the entire universe!
We went for the ultrasound / renal reflux test. And for the record, my baby girl is the bravest most amazing child in the entire universe. And I’m not just saying that because she’s mine :wub
First was ultrasound. I asked the tech to not use the word “t-a-b-l-e” but rather bed because Olivia is terrified of “t-a-b-l-e-s”. Olivia was great for the ultrasound - she was a bit clingy to me but that’s to be expected and I don’t mind the hugs and kisses :wub. No spleen seen so I guess I can just deal with it not being there and get over it. The antibiotics have worked for her thus far and will continue to do their work.
Next was the test. The tech / nurse asked if we had been told what would be done. I gave her the information I knew and they were impressed that we knew anything (most parents go in blind which is amazing to me but then again, most parents don’t have heart kids either). Olivia got changed into a cute gown. They set her up with a portable dvd player to watch a Dora movie :wub and I gave her a ring pop and a glow stick I had picked up at iParty (huge hit, btw). They were awesome and explained everything to Olivia as we went along. She and I had a deal - she was allowed to cry but NOT allowed to scream. She screamed once when they put the cath in and then she was a bit clingy when they would move the table a bit but otherwise she did awesome. She didn’t want to pee which was the final part of the test but we convinced her to go and everything was PERFECT. PERFECT. PERFECT! She and I did a bit of a dance after because I was so relieved to hear that everything was ok. Now we just need to get over this UTI and then we can still have surgery. I’m just ready to be beyond this.
Olivia and I had lunch at the hospital (she had lucky charms and gatorade :lol; I had a clam strip roll) - and then we went home. I started a fire in the fireplace and she’s sitting with Maddie watching Mariposa - a new Barbie movie Nana and Poppy brought for her because she was such a brave kiddo.
